FOUR sisters have been raising funds for charities to help other young people.

Keevey Hunt, 7, from Seventh Avenue, Liversedge, was born moderately to severely deaf and at the age of three had a cochlear implant at Bradford Royal Infirmary carried out by surgeon Professor Chris Raine who set up The Ear Trust charity to help others with hearing loss.

To say thank-you Keevey and her big sister Lilymay had a combined 20.5ins of their long locks cut to donate to The Little Princess charity and give more than £350 sponsorship raised so far to The Ear Trust.

Other sisters Maddison, 9, and Skylar, 6, also had their hair cut in support even though it was not quite long enough to donate to the Little Princess charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or illness.

The family did a car boot sale as well which made £40, said proud mum Jo Hunt.

"Professor Raine is a fantastic man and my daughters wanted to do something to say thank you to him," she added.

Breeda Barry from The Ear Trust said: "We are delighted. It's a wonderful donation."
