A MAN was seriously injured in a head on crash involving two cars earlier this morning.

At 3am emergency services were called to Legrams Lane after reports of a serious crash.

When they arrived they found two cars, a Seat Alhambra and a Volkswagen Golf, had collided, and there were multiple injuries.

The driver of the Seat is said to have suffered serious leg and pelvic injuries. Paramedics freed him from the car and the man, thought to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Other people in the cars suffered less serious injuries.

Fire crews from Bradford and Fairweather Green made the scene safe, and the road was closed off by police for several hours.

Fairweather Green watch commander Peter Hanson said it had been a "high impact" crash.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent a Hazardous Area Response Team, a repid response vehicle, and three ambulances after being called to the scene at 2.55am.

A spokesman said one person was transported to Leeds General Infirmary and two were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.
