TGHE Division One title is still up for grabs with just two rounds of matches left to play in the JACS Merit League.

Colne Cricket Club lead the way with 129 points, after they picked up an 8-4 win at Settle A.

Keighley are five points adrift after a 7-5 win over Devon A while last year’s champions Cononley A are a further three back and still in the hunt after an 8-4 win over Broughton Road A.

The final two rounds sees some interesting fixtures for the top three.

Colne Cricket Club travel to Devon A tonight, while Keighley A play hosts to Gargrave A and Cononley A are home to Settle A.

The final fixtures see Colne Cricket Club at home to Cononley A while Keighley A visit Crosshills A, it should be an exhilarating finale.

The bottom two, Broughton Road A 71 points and Settle A (73) both picked up four points in tough fixtures against Cononley A and Colne Cricket Club respectively.

Gargrave A (81) did themselves a power of good with a 9-3 home win over Sutton A (79) to climb above them in the table.

Colne Legion A (142) are now four points clear after a good 10-2 away win at Sutton B in Division Two. Silsden PF A (138) also performed well to win 8-4 away at Devon B while Lund Park A (104) won 10-2 at home against Gargrave B to stay in third place.

At the bottom Cononley B (59) remain adrift, although they won 8-4 at home to Oakworth. The remaining relegation place is still very tight Gargrave B (80) and Devon B (81) lost to the top two, while Steeton A (84) are not yet clear.

Rolls Royce (124) must have thought a 9-3 away win at Silsden P F B would have taken a big step nearer promotion from Division Three, but it was not enough.

Whinfield A (121) won 10-2 at Grassington and Keighley B (120) won 10-2 at Whinfield B, to leave the top three separated by just four points.

Whinfield A were due to play at home to Addingham A last night, while tonight Rolls are at home to Whinfield B, and Keighley B travel to neighbours Lund Park B.

The final fixtures next week are intriguing with Rolls travelling to Keighley B and Whinfield A at Silsden PF B.

The bottom three are Whinfield B (76), Grassington (76) and Lund Park B (80) it will be any two from three for relegation, all three have tough fixtures, with Grassington at home to Lund Park B in the final fixture.

Division Four sees Craven (131) in top spot, while Steeton B (119) are second, both have three fixtures remaining and should be enough points clear of Crosshills C (108) who only have two games left.

In the 54321 league, the Walker Foster Division One title will be heading to Keighley A after another big win 44-28 at Sutton A, they now have 695 points from 15 wins and just one defeat with two games left.

Devon A (641) are also looking sure of second place, after a 42-27 home win over Settle A. Cononley A’s 46-30 win over Crosshills A moved them into third spot with 596 points.

The relegation places are far from sorted with Silsden PF A (531), Crosshills A (538), Sutton A (551) and Alkincoates PWA (569) still in danger.

Colne Legion A (687) will secure promotion from Division Two with one win, after they beat their nearest rivals Lund Park A (653) 39-30.

Lund Park A will join Legion in Division One as they are clear of third-place Steeton A (612), Oakworth (604) and Devon (599).

Crosshills B (431) and Cononley B (475) will be relegated after both have struggled all season.

The Skipton Building Society Division Three saw Keighley B on top form with a 47-21 home win over promotion rivals Silsden PF B, the result put them onto 647 points.

Rolls Royce (632) are second 15 points behind with a game in hand after they won 42-27 at home to Colne Legion B.

The bottom five teams in the division are all trying to avoid the single relegation spot.

In Division Four Craven are champions and take the promotion place with 493 points after they won at Settle B 37-20, to complete their season with 14 straight wins.

Gargrave C lost their last game 33-31 at Keighley C so they will be hoping that 440 points will be enough to secure second spot.

Skipton Devonshire’s Mark Adams lifted the Dick Keighley Cup with a nail-biting 21-20 win against Warren Burnett Junior of Skipton Craven to round off an excellent day's bowling at Silsden Playing Fields.

The losing semi-finalists were Ian Shepherd of Steeton who went down 21-20 to Mark and Alan Barber of Sutton who suffered a 21-19 reverse against Burnett jnr.

Alister Keighley in his dual capacity of league president and son of Dick Keighley in whose memory the cup is played, was on hand to present the prizes.

The final competition of the season is the Norman Johnston Trophy, the qualifying round is on Tuesday 29th September with the Final on Thursday 7th September entries are now being taken.
