KILDWICK vicar the Rev Robin Figg is on the move.

He is taking up a new vicar post at the United Benefice of St Oswald, Warton, in the diocese of Blackburn.

Tribute has been paid to the Rev Figg, who has been at St Andrew's Church, Kildwick, since 2001.

Tim Whitehead, headteacher at the village primary school, said: "He leaves behind many friends, old and new, at the school.

"He has served as a governor and also led collective worship both in church and school.

"Over the last year, Robin and I have worked hard to forge strong links between the school, church and community, and we are in a good position for this to move from strength to strength."

The Rev Figg led his last collective worship, in the church, earlier this month.

And he attended the school on Friday to exchange farewells.
