A FIRE caused severe damage to a house on a quiet cul-de-sac in Liversedge last night.
Firefighters from Cleckheaton and Dewsbury were called to the incident at the semi-detached property on Keir Hardie Close at around 10.10pm.
A spokesman for the Cleckheaton crew said the occupant of the house had come home from work to discover the property was on fire.
He said: "The fire caused extensive damage to the upper floor of the house. It was caused by an electrical fault in an upstairs bedroom."
The spokesman said the first floor of the house was currently uninhabitable because of the damage caused.
