TWO young entrepreneurs aim to open pop-up shops across the country after unveiling their firm’s new base in Bradford.

Sign n Print, run by friends Khalid Thabet, 26, and Wasiq Khan, 24, has moved into its headquarters in Boynton Street, West Bowling.

The ambitious duo are now looking to open pop-up shops in cities including Manchester and Leeds, but keep their main manufacturing base in Bradford.

They say their signmaking business is a one-stop shop for clients. They design and manufacture items including shop signs, leaflets, uniforms and business cards.

The business has a list of 569 clients from across the country on its books, including Berries Bagels and Shakes, based in Killinghall Road, and Toro’s Steakhouse, Great Horton Road, Bradford.

It has also completed work at sites in Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield.

Mr Khan looks after the sales and design departments, while Mr Thabet deals with its production and fittings.

The firm’s new site has created an extra ten jobs, in areas including manufacturing and graphic design, to take its total workforce to 14.

It was officially opened on Saturday by Bradford East MP Imran Hussain at an event attended by more than 450 people.

Mr Thabet said: “We are two young men who have come a long way and want to give something back to the community.

“The building we moved into was abandoned for a number of years and we have brought it back into life. Not a lot of people would open there as it is in a large residential area.

“We want to establish our business. We manufacture as well and we work with 18 other signage companies in Bradford.

“This move has given us the opportunity to open up a state-of-the-art facility.

“We are a one-stop shop for everything. It is a state-of-the-art workshop with a graphic design studio.”

Mr Khan, a former Bradford and Keighley Youth Parliament member, started the business on his own. He met Mr Thabet in Sheffield and they progressed the business further when they bought a van and created a mobile signage and print service.

The business further expanded in 2014 when they opened their first office in Killinghall Road.
