BRADFORD South Labour MP Judith Cummins has been elected as the new chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group in Westminster.
She takes over the role from former Leeds North West Liberal Democrat MP Greg Mulholland, who lost his seat at last month's General Election.
The group is made up of MPs and Lords with the sole purpose of supporting the sport of rugby league, and meets monthly to discuss issues important in the sport and to hear from those who work in rugby league.
Ms Cummins was vocal in demanding support for the Bradford Bulls when the club went into liquidation in January this year.
Mr Muholland tweeted: “Congratulations Judith on being elected chairman of the Rugby League APPG! An important role! All the best to you and the Rugby League APPG!”
