THE driver of a car which crashed in Bradford last week has died from his injuries in hospital, police revealed today.
The 29-year-old, of Leeds, was driving a silver MG towards Chain Bar when he lost control and crashed into a wall near St Andrew's Church in Bradford Road, Oakenshaw, in the early hours of Thursday, July 13.
His male passenger, also 29, of Bradford, was also badly injured and remains in a serious condition in hospital.
The dead man has not been named by police.
Officers in the Major Collision Enquiry Team are continuing to appeal to anyone who saw the vehicle travelling in the area before the incident, or who witnessed the collision itself to come forward.
Information can be passed to the team by calling 101 and quoting crime reference number 13170319659.
Speaking after the crash, Councillor John Lawson (Lib Dem, Cleckheaton) said there were safety concrns about the stretch of road where it happened.
"This is the second crash we have seen there in the last couple of years, and the previous one was also very serious," he said.
“We have campaigned before for safety measures at this site,” he said.
“Residents were concerned at the road being unsafe and difficult to cross and we campaigned for the traffic lights to be installed.
“The fact is that this has been highlighted as a dangerous corner.”
