A LEGION of fans shunned motorised transport as they headed to today's Bradford Bulls away game on foot.
Supporters’ trust BullBuilder organised the sponsored walk to Batley this morning, ahead of the game against the Batley Bulldogs.
The group were joined by academy players and coaching staff for the eight-mile trek, dubbed the Batley Bumble.
The 50-strong procession set off from Odsal Stadium at 10.30am before heading down Cleckheaton Road and onto the Spen Valley Greenway.
Cleckheaton Tesco treated them to refreshments part-way along and they arrived at Mount Pleasant, home of the Bulldogs, by 2pm, in plenty of time to watch the match.
Paul Butterworth, of BullBuilder, said they had raised a huge £3,000 and the atmosphere during the walk itself had been fantastic, with academy players chatting with fans and passers-by making donations.
He said: “It just shows the true spirit of what people think about rugby league in Bradford, from the bottom to the top.”
