TWO drug addicts were sentenced yesterday for conspiracy to defraud a high street pharmacy.
Wayne Pearson, 38, and Liam Baker, 29, both pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud Boots at Bradford Crown Court.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC, pictured, gave Pearson, who appeared on a video link from HMP Leeds, two four month sentences to be served concurrently, and was found not guilty of a third offence.
Baker, of Brunel Court, Sydenham Place, Undercliffe, received a four month sentence, suspended for 12 months.
He said: “I wish in many ways all cases could be as easily resolved, but you have made it so by pleading guilty.”
The judge also praised Pearson for getting clean of drugs while on remand at prison in Leeds, after being addicted to heroin since the age of 12.
Baker, who has a longstanding addiction to Class A drugs, was also ordered to take part in a drugs rehabilitation programme by Judge Durham Hall.
