A GROUP of pupils learned how a house is built during a guided tour of a new development.
A total of 90 children from Cullingworth Primary School, aged between five and seven, visited David Wilson Homes' Hewenden Ridge development in the village.
During their visit the pupils got to see how a house is built. They were shown around the homes under construction and were taught about materials used to build, and what makes a house stay up
The tour was led by site manager, Andy Firth, and the children spoke to some of the bricklayers and joiners on the site to find out about their roles in the building process
Teacher Laura Brown said: "We've been learning about construction and building materials in our curriculum this term, so the children were really excited to visit Hewenden Ridge so that they could understand all the work that goes into building a home.
"It was a great visit that may inspire our young students to take up a career in the construction industry one day."
Curtis Sorren, sales adviser at Hewenden Ridge, said: "It was great to have the children from Cullingworth Primary School visiting our development and learning about the house building process from Andy – we had a lot of fun on the day."
