QUEENSBURY, beaten 18-16 at North Hull Knights in late April, gained revenge in no uncertain fashion in the reverse fixture in the Yorkshire Men's League Premier Division.

Bury won 42-16 to go fifth on a sunny day at Ovenden, and made a great start when Tom Hainsworth drove through three players on the first set to score by the posts for Ethan Egerton-Sharp to add the goal.

Four minutes later, Jonny Norman was over, and the Knights were 12-0 down before they could blink.

However, ill discipline then led to the visitors having one player red carded and another yellow-carded, but curiously they were spurred on by this and went over in the corner on the half-hour.

But Queensbury regrouped and added a Daniel Clark try five minutes before the interval to lead 16-6 at the break.

Man of the match Norman's quickfire brace from dummy half gave him his hat-trick early in the second half but then it was Queensbury's turn to suffer from yellow cards and a red.

But Knights could not cope with the pace of debutant Matty Piper and the returning Josh Boulger, and tries followed for Sam Smith, Hainsworth and Gareth Crowther, although Knights bagged the last two scores.

Queensbury must not now let their guard slip as they host bottom-of-the-table Doncaster Toll Bar on Saturday.

Bury's A team were edged out 26-24 at Wyke in Division Five, with tries coming from Chris Hanson, Tom Hart, Darren Brown and Dan Charlton, Michael Boocock adding four goals.

On Saturday, fifth-placed Queensbury A have another derby, this time at third-placed Keighley Albion A.

In Division One, Odsal Sedbergh, who are also fifth, warmed up for their trip to second-placed Norland Sharks with a 48-24 home victory over sixth-placed Keighley Albion, who are sixth.

Wibsey Warriors had a fine 24-16 win at Brighouse Rangers in Division Two, but will need another performance at home to leaders Hull Wyke.

Warriors A, beaten 30-18 at York Lokomotive in Division Four, have a derby at West Bowling A.

Wyke have a friendly at Garforth Tigers.

In Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three, leaders West Bowling have their latest table-topping encounter at second-placed Eastmoor Dragons.

"It is a really intense month for us," said Bowling coach Glenn Barraclough, who has Elliot Cousins and Olly Bartle available again but is missing Dan Gregory.

He scored two tries in their 34-20 home victory over Woolston Rovers, with other tries coming from Harry Williams, Danny Halmshaw, Liam Coe and Ben Heald.

In Division Two, Bradford Dudley Hill, who sent visitors Salford City Roosters packing 78-10, have a long trip to tenth-placed Millom.
