MEMBERS of the Sikh community held at event in Bradford's Centenary Square on Sunday to mark the anniversary of the death of one of their martyrs.
The event remembered the death of fifth Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the first martyr killed for simply being Sikh.
To mark his sacrifice for universal humanity and universal rights of equality, Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara, along with with Bradford Gurdwara Board served vegetarian food and drinks free to the public between 11am and 4pm.
As well as food there were martial art performances and speeches on Sikh philosophy and traditional folk music.
The Sikh community said the event was to enhance community spirit and community cohesion and let everyone know they believe in an open door policy.
