THE science behind dreams was the theme of the latest in a series of adult only events held at a Bradford museum tonight.

The National Science and Media Museum held the latest of its Lates events earlier tonight, with hundreds of people enjoying free workshops and activities based on the theme of dreams.

The events are held every three months, and are open to over 18s only.

Thursday's event saw sleep scientist Graham Law discussing commonly held myths about dreams and sleep in the foyer of the museum, while elsewhere in the museum other experts discussed why we dream and how sleep boosts our memory.

There were workshops where visitors could create their own pinhole cameras, dreamcatchers and sleep masks, and guided tours of some of the museum's more nightmarish collection pieces, including horror movie props.

And there were also relaxation sessions where people could enjoy a "waking dream."

The next Lates event will be the launch of the Bradford Science Festival, on Friday July 14 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
