A BRADFORD technology firm is celebrating after it posted record turnover figures for last year.

Opal Wave, based in Peckover Street, Little Germany, also saw its income increase from £3.02 million to a record £4.08m during the 2016/17 financial year. This followed a 50 per cent rise from £2.04m in the previous year.

The international business software consultants recorded a 35 per cent increase in turnover in 2016/17.

It specialises in business planning and consolidation applications from German software firm SAP.

Opal Wave listed a number of highlights which contributed to its strong showing in 2016/17. These included becoming the world’s first organisation to set up a cloud-based version of the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) system. This features a suite of accounting templates as a service.

The company was founded in 2008 and its services include consulting, hardware, software and support and maintenance.

Recruitment at the firm’s offices in Bradford and London also grew during 2016/17, from 31 to more than 40.

It has also signed up new clients including investment management firm Polar Capital and footwear and fashion accessories company Global Brands Group. These join its existing client list which features bookmakers Ladbrokes and green energy company Ecotricity.

Opal Wave also became the world’s only company to qualify as an SAP Partner Managed Cloud partner for SAP BPC. This makes sure the firm is qualified in every part of consultancy, support and training for BPC Cloud.
