A MAN is in a stable condition after being the victim of a violent robbery at his home.

West Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a robbery at an address in Madison Avenue yesterday morning.  

Officers attended at around 10:55am and found a male seriously injured inside the property. 

It is believed the victim, a man in his 70s, was subject to an assault by some male suspects, who approached the property at around 3am. 

When the victim opened the front door, the suspects forced entry and assaulted the victim.  

The victim was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.  

Detective Inspector Alan Weekes, of Bradford CID, said: "Our enquiries remain ongoing but we believe this is a targeted attack on the victim.  

"We have stepped up patrols in the area and would ask for anyone with information to get in touch with police."
