A GROUP of people had a peaceful and relaxing morning today by taking part in an outdoor yoga session.
Yoga in the Park took place to mark International Yoga Day, which this year falls on Wednesday, June 21.
The session, which took place at 10am in the bandstand at Roberts Park, Saltaire, also helped raise money for the Children of Syria appeal being run by the Save the Children charity.
The group practiced their best tree poses and downward dogs and warrior stances to celebrate the ancient form of meditation and exercise, and the benefits it can have on peoples health and wellbeing, and was just one of thousands of events held in the UK and all over the world.
Heather Gregg, from the event organisers Heather Yoga, said: “It went really well, we had an overwhelming response.
“About 75 people attended and everybody seemed to enjoy it, there was a really nice vibe and the weather was perfect for it.
“Having that amount of people shows more and more people are aware of yoga its benefits on physical and mental health.
"We raised nearly £750, and it's great people have done something for themselves and for others, and everyone was really generous."
