THERE is a police cordon in a popular village park today while police investigate reports of a 'serious sexual assault.'
A forensic tent has been set up in Roberts Park, Saltaire, and an area near the park's Half Moon Cafe has been taped off following the reports of a woman in her 20s being attacked.
Police have told the Telegraph & Argus the investigation is in a "very early stage".
The forensic tent has been set up in a small wooded area behind the main field in the park.
The park is busy today with children on their half term break and many families enjoying picnics.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are investigating a report of a serious sexual assault which was believed to have occurred in Roberts Park, Saltaire yesterday evening.
"These enquiries are at a very early stage and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers."
