TWO men have been arrested following a cash-in-transit robbery in which a security driver was assaulted at a shop in Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police said the driver was assaulted by two men who stole a cash box containing an unconfirmed amount of money, outside commercial premises in Bolton Road. He suffered minor injuries.

The suspects left the scene in a blue Ford Focus, containing a further two men. This car was burned out a short time later in Silverhill Drive, Bradford.

The four men were seen to leave the Focus and get into a black Ford Mondeo which was then involved in a crash with a silver Subaru at the junction of Silverhill Drive and Upper Rushton Road. The Mondeo was abandoned and the suspects left the scene on foot.

The incident took place at just after 3.10pm on Thursday.

Two men, aged 19 and 21, have been arrested and released pending further inquiries.

Any witnesses to the incident in Bolton Road, the car being set alight or the crash, are asked to call Bradford CID on 101, quoting log 1133 of May 25.
