TUTORS from Bradford School of Art will pass on their expertise during this weekend’s Saltaire Arts Trail.

Staff from the specialist art college, part of Bradford College, will be running workshops at the annual arts celebration with short bookable sessions in special effects make-up, printmaking and lino printing all on offer in Saltaire Methodist Church.

On Saturday Leanne Marsh will run a two-hour Special Effects and Make-up Artistry workshop from 2pm which will introduce the techniques of life body casting and special effects makeup.

On Sunday Brian Hindmarch will run a Monoprint and Monotype Printmaking workshop. In the 90-minute masterclass, which can be booked for a 12.30pm or 2.30pm start, participants will explore printmaking.

Creative Impression - Stamp Making and Lino Printing is the topic of Monday’s workshop which will be run by Vivienne Bradley. From 1pm participants will learn how to carve their own handcrafted rubber stamp to produce a series of prints.

Through the weekend, Bradford School of Art tutors Hannah Lamb and Claire Wellesley-Smith will produce the second part of their special commission, Lasting Impressions.

Last year they presented a participatory artwork that aimed to create an archive of clothing we wear day-to-day. They collected impressions of over 300 participants clothing on porcelain tiles and written responses to these items.

This year the duo will be archiving the responses collected and creating new work using fibre and fabric.

The work will be on the top floor of Salts Mill each day through Saturday to Monday between 11am and noon, then 1pm to 2pm and 3pm to 4pm. Visitors are welcome to participate.

Places on the workshops cost £6 per person and can be booked on saltaireinspired.org.uk
