A mum has told of the moment her 10-year-old daughter's dream trip to see her idol Ariana Grande in concert turned into an 'absolute nightmare'.

Rebecca Reeton, 32, from Baildon, was at the concert with her daughter Lillian, who had got the ticket as a Christmas present. They were sat in section 206, which Miss Reeton said was right above where the bomb is thought to have gone off.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

She told the Telegraph & Argus this morning: “Lillian is very traumatised. As we were trying to get out we could see the whole aftermath of it. Poor little girl, she was screaming that she didn’t want to die.

“She said she didn’t want to remember the night.

“We can’t believe how close it was, I’m so happy we’re both safe.

“We were stood up at the end of the concert collecting our stuff. We could hear the bang and then there was this smell of smoke. There was smoke coming up through the floor.

"We were just desperately trying to get out. It was an absolute nightmare.

"There was a massive stampede as everyone was rushing out. There was this young teenage girl working as a steward, who seemed overwhelmed.

"There were mums and kids crying. We were walking around the arena, there were so many injured people. My daughter just wanted to get out.

"The crowd was mostly young girls and their mums and dads. Young women and boys, it's so sad, it can't bear thinking about.

"It is so close to home, it is right on our doorstep. My daughter was terrified, imagine having to tell a child that someone has just blown themself up.

“We eventually managed to get out and took refuge in a nearby Yates's. The staff there were great and they called us a taxi. We were going to get a train home, but they weren’t running.”

She said the family had another narrow escape, having been on holiday in Tunisia at the same resort hit by a terror attack a week later.
