MORE than 70 youngsters took part in watercolour art workshops at Silsden Town Hall.
The sessions, attended by pupils from the town's Hothfield School, were staged to celebrate the Tour de Yorkshire.
Professional artist Sheila Schofield demonstrated watercolour painting techniques and the children were then encouraged to create their own work on a cycling theme.
Cycling-related images by six artists, including Shirley, were displayed to inspire the pupils.
"The children were all very interested and enthusiastic and produced some lovely work," she said.
"It was a pleasure to work with them."
The paintings, together with some produced by adults at an earlier workshop, will be put on show to mark the reopening of Silsden Library.
Friends of Silsden Town Hall member Wendy Neville, who organised the workshops, said: "We were fortunate to gain a small grant from Bradford Council to run them and we certainly benefited from Shirley's expertise. She brought out the painting talent of both the adults and the children.
"The display of work will be a culmination of a whole range of creative activities in the town to celebrate the Tour."
