THE Bulls' young guns are enjoying 'proving everyone wrong' according to Leigh Beattie.

A host of the interim head coach's young stars have progressed through his Under-19s set-up and into the first-team this season.

James Bentley, Evan Hodgson, Brandan Wilkinson and Matthew Storton can all still play for the '19s' but are already forging names for themselves in the professional game.

And, speaking ahead of Sunday's return to Kingstone Press Championship action at home to London, Beattie believes the current crop have big futures ahead of them.

He said: “There are some good young kids that I don’t think people have paid a lot of attention to over the past couple of years.

"Other clubs have overlooked them and didn’t think that they would kick on this year – they have proved everyone wrong.

“You can see that the more they play it makes them better players, they mature so quickly in such a small space of time. There is only one way and that is up for some of these lads, and they are going to have huge careers."

Beattie continued: “There are plenty more to come as well. Matthew Storton missed all of the pre-season with a really bad hamstring injury, but he had a major operation on it, he has come back fighting fit and has been doing really well in the 19s.

“The young players have done an outstanding job. If you constantly play week-in week-out, it takes a toll on them with their lack of experience.

“But these young men that have been brought into the first team can hold their heads high. The club is insanely proud of them and everything that they have achieved.”
