A 45-year-old arrested after police were called to reports of a man with a knife at a shop in Wibsey has been charged with theft and threatening a person with a blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
Police were called to McColl’s in Beacon Road, Wibsey, Bradford at 8.48pm on Sunday.
It is understood a staff member pressed a panic alarm.The man from Bradford was arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft and affray.
After being charged he was bailed to appear at Bradford magistrates next month, said a police spokesman.
A McColl’s spokesperson said: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers is of utmost importance. We have been working closely with the relevant authorities.”
