BRADFORD Grammar School pupil Ciara Schlosshan has been named in the Great Britain team to compete at the European Junior Championships in Israel from June 28 to July 2.

The Leeds teenager won the 200 metres butterfly at the British Championships earlier this year in Sheffield.

She had previously taken gold in the junior women's (15 and under) 400m individual medley and bronze in the 200m individual medley at the National ASA North East Region Short Course Championships in 2015, breaking two Yorkshire records in the process.

Schlosshan has also won gold in the 400m IM and bronze in the 200m IM at junior women's level in the National ASA North East Region Short Course Championships in 2015, breaking Yorkshire records in the process.

Accompanying her among the 37 athletes in Netanya are City of Leeds clubmates Leah Crisp and Layla Black.
