A 32-year-old man has been charged with assaulting a police officer following the arrest of "one of the areas most wanted men" earlier this week.
The man was detained and arrested in Long Lee, Keighley, on Tuesday following a chase, after being at large for six months.
During the arrest, a police officer was assaulted and had to go to hospital for treatment.
The man is due at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court today charged with assaulting a police officer and malicious communications.
He had been wanted by police for a serious domestic assault.
Following the arrest, Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, said: “We all owe a debt of gratitude to the brave actions and interventions of West Yorkshire Police officers as they go about their daily business to help keep people safe and feeling safe, often going beyond their call of duty in the most challenging of times as situations such as this demonstrate.
"My thoughts and best wishes are with the officer concerned and their family and friends. I wish the officer a quick recovery.”
