HAVING triumphed in the wet last season, Bradford motor cycle racer Dave Brook has now won on a dry circuit in the Thundersport GB Series.

The Clayton Heights man won the third race at Snetterton to back up his success in the final race of 2016 at Cadwell Park.

Brook said: "My second win overall meant as much as the first win, but I needed a dry one to make it official in my eyes!

"It won't be may last either as we further develop the bike and learn what makes it go faster!"

It wasn't all plain sailing in Norfolk, however, for the Team Arkoni Racing member, and he explained: "We started the test day getting to the bottom of the braking issues we had at Donington Park and, after replacement calipers, got that sorted.

"We also worked on the set-up of the electronics throughout the day, and were fairly content come the end of it.

"However, we realised in qualifying we were way down through the speed traps, but, having reverted to the original fuel and ignition maps for race one, found five miles per hour (extra) of straight line speed.

"Although the lap times in race one were only 0.25sec off the fastest lap of the race by Lee Williams, it wasn't good enough for a podium, but we would be third on the grid for the Monday races."

Having qualified fifth, Brook was fourth in race one and second in race two before winning race three.

He added: "In race two, I got a better start thanks to the improved grid position (based on the best times in qualifying and race one) and straight line speed, but I knew I could win.

"Having dug deep in the last race after a poor start, I got back to the front from fifth and ended up leading for the rest of the race."
