AN APPEAL to raise £500 to rebuild pitch-side dug-outs at a vandal-hit football club in Liversedge has reached its target within 48 hours.
Members and players at Hartshead AFC were left frustrated when the newly-built dug-outs were demolished by vandals shortly after they hit a league deadline for them to be installed.
The side is on the brink of promotion to the West Yorkshire League’s premier division and ground improvements are vital if they are to progress to the top tier.

Andrew Lambert from the club told the Telegraph & Argus earlier: “As you can imagine, we are a grass roots football club without any funding. The money that players raised to erect the fence and dug-outs in the first place has been used up.”
An online appeal hit its target around 1pm today with a total of 23 donations.
The team face Featherstone Colliery in the final game of the season on Saturday, and a win should guarantee their promotion.
