A RESIDENT filmed armed police as they surrounded a house on a Bradford estate.

Numerous officers pointed guns at a property on Canterbury Avenue, Canterbury, after receiving a report of a "concern for safety".

At least six people either left the house with their hands up or accompanied by armed officers, before police searched the property.

The drama, which happened at about 9.45pm on Monday, was captured on video.

The person who captured it said: "I heard a lot of banging outside and looked and saw a lot of police armed with guns."

The witness, who asked not to be named, said police were there for between 45 minutes and an hour and added: "I am kind of used to it now, to be honest. It is getting quite a common thing to be happening in Bradford."

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to an address in Canterbury Avenue, Bradford, at 9.44pm on Monday following a report of concern for safety.

"The caller stated there were a group of men outside the address who were believed to be armed. As armed officers responded further information was received that the men were now inside the property.

"The property was contained by armed officers and the four occupants complied with a request to leave the address to allow for it to be safely searched.

"Nothing of note was found and enquiries are continuing with local officers."

The spokesman added that no-one was arrested.
