SKIPTON: Saxophonist Snake Davis will perform at 7.30pm on Friday, May 12, at The Mart Theatre.

Snake, who has worked with some of the world’s biggest acts including Take That, Lisa Stansfield, The Eurythmics, George Michael, Ray Charles, Tom Jones and M People, will perform a myriad of classics and his own solos.

Gloria Delaneuf, who is well-versed in mime, mask and the mysteries of stagecraft, and Josephine Cunningham will present a performance of Gloriator at 7.30pm on Saturday, May 6, in Skipton Town Hall.

Gloriator is a riotously funny show that reveals just what happens when a glamorous French actress and her hapless assistant stage their version of the Hollywood blockbuster Gladiator.

Russell Crowe may not be available, but the pair are determined to perform a show their audience will never forget.

Skipton Film Club will screen the film I, Daniel Blake at 5.15pm on Sunday, May 7, in the Plaza Cinema, on Sackville Street. A short film by local filmmakers will start the evening.

SETTLE: Collectors’ Rooms: an exhibition of painting, prints and sculpture will run until May 29 at Gavagan Art gallery in Settle.

The spring exhibition will feature a special display of Raku ceramics by Stephen Murfitt.

Fiddles, guitar, accordion, bagpipes and step dancing explode into life when Calan, a young folk band from Wales, take the stage at Settle Victoria Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday.

A concert by artists invited to teach and perform at the annual Scandimoot weekend of Scandinavian music and dance will be performed in Settle Victoria Hall at 8pm on Sunday.

There will be fiddle music featuring Norwegians Rasmus and Hans Kjorstad and Jo Einar Jansen plus Rowan Rheingans from the UK. Vegar and Mette Vårdal will perform Norwegian dances.

The Ribblesdale Area Moving Picture Show (TRAMPS) will screen the film Our Little Sister at 7.45pm on Wednesday in Settle Victoria Hall.

The film will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles.

CRAVEN (various locations): Theatre company The Jay Walkers will tour Craven to perform their spring production No Job for a Woman.

The play, written by Jamesine Cundell Walker, was inspired by a trip to Armley Mills Museum.

Wreckless Eric, an English rock/new wave singer-songwriter, will perform at 7pm on Thursday, May 4, in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre.
