GUISELEY are facing a tough fight for their National League lives after suffering two defeats over Easter.

With two games to go, away to Bromley on Saturday and at home to Solihull Moors a week later, they desperately need to halt the slide which has seen them lose four of their last five matches.

The Lions are just one point above the drop zone and involved in a seven-team battle to avoid joining Southport and North Ferriby in National League North next season.

Chester, Woking, Solihull Moors York City, Braintree and Torquay are the other sides fighting for survival.

Nethermoor boss Adam Lockwood has consistently warned that his side's run in would be tough, and so it is proving.

And he insisted after the double disappointment of a 2-0 defeat at Braintree and 2-1 home reverse against Tranmere that his men must be ready for the fight.

He said: "Every game is a focus for us we have to be prepared right and approach every game as if it is our last.

"Most of the time we have done that this year and the results have backed that up.

"We knew we were up against a strong run of games. Unfortunately at the minute, we are on the tail end of results that are not going our way.

"We have to change that and have two games to do that. We won’t be approaching the games any different from in the past when we have got points.”

Lockwood knows his team cannot afford to let their guard drop. "We always knew it wasn’t going to be easy," said Lockwood.

"I've been saying it for a few weeks. I felt there was an aura around the place and people thought we were safe."

Top scorer Jake Cassidy will sit out the final match of his three-match ban at Bromley as Lions battle for the points that will keep them in the top tier of non-league soccer for another year.
