A COFFEE morning at Steeton in aid of a children's hospice was a huge success.

The Easter-themed event, at St Stephen's Church hall, raised £717 for Martin House.

The coffee morning was the latest in a series staged by villager Lynda Corser, her family and friends.

Proceeds go to the Boston Spa hospice in tribute to the care received there by Mrs Corser’s late nephew, Andrew Pratt, who died in 1998 at the age of 12.

Attractions at the event included refreshments, cakes, crafts, a tombola, raffle and Easter egg game.

Easter eggs were donated by Happy Dog Company, the Universal Credit team at Keighley Jobcentre, Silsden Co-op and Morrisons in Keighley.

"The donations we get and the support generally are fantastic," said Mrs Corser.

"I would like to say a huge thank-you to all the helpers and everyone who supported us."
