A GOVERNMENT inspector has backed Bradford Council’s decision to block plans for houses in a Wyke garden.

James Firth had applied for permission to construct a pair of semi detached houses in the back garden of 364 Whitehall Road.

But a Council planning panel refused the application last year because of traffic concerns, due to cars exiting and entering the site. Mr Firth lodged an appeal against the decision, and the result of that appeal has now been released.

Planning inspector S J Lee agreed with the council's decision to refuse the development. His decision said: “ I find there would be a material risk to the safety of road users and pedestrians as a result of the development.”
