SCORES of singing hopefuls showed off their talents at a Bradford shopping centre in a bid to book a place on a TV talent show.

The X Factor’s auditions hit The Broadway as part of a UK tour to find the next big singing talent.

The singers were looking to follow in the footsteps of Zayn Malik, from East Bowling, who found fame on the show in 2010 as part of One Direction.

The hit show’s mobile audition van attracted queues of enthusiastic pop star wannabes today to show off their vocal skills.

Encased in an X Factor judging pod, the singers had their performances filmed in front of members of the show’s talent-spotting team.

Among those to sing were Melissa Turner, 16, of Holmewood. She sang Ella Henderson’s hit, Yours, and will have to wait until July to find out if she has got through to the next round.

She said: “I think it went well. I wasn’t nervous.”

Bradford is one of 23 towns and cities in the UK and Ireland being visited by the mobile audition van from now until May 14.
