Children from St William’s Catholic Primary School in Girlington have been raising funds for charity with a variety of sponsored events, themed days and raffles.
The school recently took part in a sponsored walk that took them through Girlington and the surrounding area. Over 220 people took part in the walk that aimed to raise over £500 to support the work of Catholic Care across the Diocese of Leeds.
Andrew Bastable, deputy head said: "As a school we benefit greatly from the excellent work that Catholic Care does with our children and their families.
"Our Lenten fundraising has focussed on how we as a school community can actively support an organisation that does so much good work through the many projects that Catholic Care run. To see so many children and their families raising money for such a worthwhile charity is fantastic. Our fundraising continues with a huge raffle of Easter eggs that have been donated by staff in school.
"The children have really enjoyed our fundraising this year and after the themed uniform days, I’m sure the raffle will prove to be equally popular."
