BRADFORD Nightstop has been invited to a civic reception to honour its achievement of providing 10,000 ‘bed nights’ to homeless young people since it started in 1993.

The event at City Hall tonight will be hosted by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Geoff Reid (pictured), who said: “Bradford Nightstop hosts are among the most impressive volunteers in Bradford district.

“Their commitment not just to hosting but also to training shows that ordinary Bradfordians can make an extraordinary difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.

“I am proud to have contributed to the development of the organisation during my early years in Bradford.”

Bradford Nightstop, which is based in Manningham, offers homeless people aged 16-25 a spare bed,a bath or shower, a hot meal and clean clothes in the home of a volunteer host on a one-night-at-a-time basis.
