MUSICAL entertainment provided a lively accompaniment to a pop-in information and advice session as part of World Autism Awareness Week.

Three pop-in daytime sessions were organised to take place in an empty shop in Ivegate, Bradford.

The events had been put together through Specialist Autism Services (SAS) which has offices in Bradford, Shipley and Leeds.

Skills monitor Dave Robinson, from SAS said the sessions had been arranged so people to could drop in at leisure

"They organised as informal and relaxing pop-ins where people could come for a chat, gain information and advice or ask questions.

"The whole idea is to bring more awareness to autism because it is not necessarily something that you can see. Hopefully it will give people the chance to learn a little more about the condition," he said.

Sessions were held on Tuesday and Wednesday and the last will be tomorrow, Friday.

On Wednesday local musicians, including Top Whack, where Mr Robinson plays the flute, held music sessions between 11am and 3pm. Groups and singers included female singing duo Waiting for Wednesday, Den Miller and Richard Marriot.

Elsewhere in Bradford, SAS drama group, Drama Workshop, held a performance at Bradford College called Fearful Frank, on Thursday, and there was a stall at Kirkgate Market where information and questionnaires were handed out.
