PLANNING permission has been granted to demolish a garage and build another at a home in Idle following an appeal.
The bid by Ben Fawcett relates to 359 Highfield Road and demolishing a Nissen hut-type building used as a garage to replace it with a stone-built one.
The property is in a conservation area and close to a listed building.
The planning inspector agreed that the current setting of the nearby listed cottage would be altered, but "not radically" and that the "relatively i and otherwise harmonious design" of the new garage would not mean the changes were negative.
