JUST days remain for people to give their support to a Keighley project in a public vote.

Social enterprise Get Out More is among five groups in Yorkshire competing for up to £50,000 of National Lottery cash.

If successful in the People's Projects competition, the organisation will run the Outdoor Adventure Club – a year-long programme of activities making use of Keighley's woodlands and parks.

People are invited to vote for their favourite shortlisted scheme at thepeoplesprojects.org.uk.

The venture with the most support when voting closes on Monday, April 3, will receive the funding.

Get Out More has just celebrated its fifth birthday with a party at the St Ives estate, Harden, where the organisation staged its first forest school.

Forty youngsters braved heavy rain to take part in games and a campfire and enjoyed a special cake.

Erica Baker, whose son Leo has attended Get Out More programmes for the past two years, said: "It was a terrific party and testament to those who come to forest school that they just get on with it, despite the weather! Leo loves the holiday forest schools."

Get Out More founder and director, Annie Berrington, said: "Leo's experience shows what children and young people get from taking part in outdoor activities.

"The Outdoor Adventure Club will open up these kind of experiences to hundreds more children, giving them a place to be active, make friends with others from difference communities and feel good.

"It will also help local people get involved in these projects and make improvements to woodlands and outdoor spaces."
