VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help out with a litter-pick along Bradford’s becks this weekend.
Friends of Bradford Becks are joining forces with the River Stewardship Company and will be meeting at the bridge over the beck at Poplar Road, Frizinghall, at 10am on Saturday, March 25, for a pick along Valley Road.
Robert Hellawell, a member of FoBBS said: “Litter is a persistent problem in Bradford, whether it is mindlessly discarded by irresponsible individuals, or illegally fly-tipped by criminals.
“Sadly a lot of it eventually ends up in the rivers and becks. This can have a detrimental impact on wildlife and makes the area unsightly and appear to be uncared for.”
The two groups will be providing litter-pickers and bags but volunteers are asked to take their own wellies or stout shoes and gardening gloves.
