ROTARIANS have given a £1,000 boost to Manorlands.

Members of the Bradford Bronte club have handed-over money raised through a festive collection at Woodbank Nurseries, Harden.

They donned favourite Christmas jumpers and superhero capes and masks for the event.

Club president Caroline Murie said: "People seemed to appreciate us making ourselves look silly for a good cause and we had such fun meeting people and raising much-needed funds for Manorlands.

"So many people had a personal story to relate about the wonderful service the hospice provided to them or a family member."

Harriet Wood, fundraiser at the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, said: "Members of Bradford Bronte Rotary Club have been supporters of Manorlands for many years, not only with kind donations but also by helping to raise awareness.

"They truly understand the role that Manorlands plays in the community and the vital services it provides.

"The club did well to raise such a fantastic amount and we must thank the staff and customers of Woodbank for being so generous and supportive of the collection.

"We are very grateful to both parties for making this possible."
