A BIRKENSHAW-based business is planning on expanding its base to create more office space.
National Flexibles, based off Battlefield View, has been granted planning permission to build a two- storey extension to the building.
According to the company the expansion will “create an enhanced ground floor reception, meeting and general office space.” The first floor area will be used for an increased staff office and meeting room area.
The company is the UK’s largest distributor of polypropylene, laminates and special films.
The site overlooks the battlefield of Adwalton Moor from 1643, but planning officers at Bradford Council said the expansion was unlikely to harm the area’s significance. Officers said: “Potentially, there is a chance that some historical artefacts may be excavated, but the area has already been previously developed and there is therefore no particular archaeological significance for this site.”
