A BRADFORD-based care provider has been praised by residents living in its care homes as well as their relatives.

The care at Anchor’s homes in England, including Bradford and Leeds, was rated above the national average by its residents and their relatives, in the Your Care Rating survey conducted by Ipsos Mori.

The results show that across its 121 care homes, Anchor, which is based in Godwin Street in the city, was given an overall performance rating of 896 out of 1,000 in the residents survey, an increase of ten points from the previous year, making Anchor the top large provider in the country.

In the first families and friends survey, Anchor scored 837 out of 1,000, above the national average of 828.

Jane Ashcroft, Anchor’s chief executive, said: “I’m very proud of how well Anchor has performed in the Your Care Rating surveys. It’s a testament to hardworking colleagues who are committed to listening to residents’ feedback to deliver our promise of happy living for the years ahead.

“Families can also see at a glance that Anchor care homes are great places to be and taking part in the survey shows we are committed to listening to and acting on what our residents tell us.

“Every care home resident, and their family and friends, should be able to speak up about their care and this is what the Your Care Rating survey does – it ensures people have a voice.”
