A SPEED check brought about by concerned members of the public saw police catch eight drivers going too fast.

Officers caught the motorists breaking the 30mph speed limit on Midland Road, Bradford.

The operation took place after members of the local community raised concerns about speeding on the road, which passes Bradford City’s Valley Parade stadium.

One of the drivers caught speeding failed to stop for officers and led them on a short pursuit. The driver was caught and his Volkswagen Golf (pictured) was seized.

A police spokesman said: “Officers will be back on this and surrounding roads in the near future to again enforce the speed limit.”

On February 28 a man was injured by a motorist who “drove at” Bradford City fans as they walked along Midland Road following the Bantams’ match against MK Dons.
