FOUR men arrested in connection with a brawl in Bradford have been released without charge.

Police and ambulance crews were called to reports of up to 20 people fighting in Barkerend at about 3.30pm last Friday.

Altercations took place in Thursby Road, Seaton Street and Feather Road. Police believe the fighting started as a result of an assault on a teenage boy earlier in the day.

Inspector Diane Collins, who leads the Bradford Area Neighbourhood Team, said: “Enquiries suggest this incident has broken out after a 14-year-old boy suffered minor injuries in an earlier assault in Undercliffe Lane.

“Four men, aged 20, 34, 39 and 43, were arrested in relation to the disturbance but were later released without charge.

“Both incidents are the subject of ongoing investigations.

“Local officers and partners are continuing to work with members of the local community to address any issues.”

Councillor Imran Khan (Labour, Bowling and Barkerend) said at the time: “The last thing we want is events like this occurring because children had been fighting at school.”
