THE winners of this year’s Festival of Talent across dozens of Bradford schools have been selected following the finals.

Held on Friday at Bradford College, there was a winner and runner-up in both the primary and secondary categories.

The primary section was won by Molly Softley from Wibsey Primary, who performed a contemporary dance, and the runner-up was Antoni Modlinski, from Low Ash Primary, who performed a song.

The secondary section was won by the Bradford Academy Choir with a choral performance, and the runner-up was Annabelle Parish, from Titus Salt School, a vocalist.

The City of Bradford Festival of Talent was founded by former Lady Mayoress Elizabeth Sharp and has been run since 2015.

Mrs Sharp, who is also secretary of the Wharfedale Festival of Performing Arts, said: “A huge thanks to all participants, their parents, teachers and schools.

“We hope they will take part in next year’s Festival of Talent, a huge celebration of our young people.”

The winners receive an automatic entry into the Schools’ Prom 2017, which is being held next month.
