HUNDREDS of people gathered at a mosque today for the funeral of Bingley crash victim Shumas Fakeer.
The large crowds converged on the Jamiyat Tabligh-ul-Islam in Manningham on a gloomy Friday lunchtime for the 22-year-old's ceremony.
His hearse was adorned with a floral wreath reading 'Brother', before his coffin was carried into the mosque, in Victor Street.
During the funeral, some of the Imams spoke warning against dangerous driving.
Mr Fakeer, of Aireville Avenue, Frizinghall, was the passenger in a blue Audi RS4 when it crashed into a tree and lamppost in Bradford Road, Bingley, in the early hours of Sunday, February 26.
The driver, a 24-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, along with two other men, aged 23 and 24, who were travelling in a black Volkswagen Golf that was travelling in tandem with the Audi at the time of the crash.
All three men have been bailed pending further inquiries.
