THE 22-year-old law graduate killed in a crash in Bingley on Sunday gained his degree from the University of Bradford, his family said today.

Shumas Fakeer had been working at an insurance firm in Leeds before his death, said his uncle, Adil Shaan.

Mr Fakeer, of Aireville Avenue, Frizinghall, was a passenger in a blue Audi RS4 when it crashed into a tree and lamppost outside Ashfield Court sheltered housing in Bradford Road, Bingley, at around 4am on Sunday.

The driver of the Audi, a 24-year-old man, and two other men, aged 23 and 24, who were in a black Volkswagen Golf believed to have been travelling in tandem with the Audi at the time of the crash, have been arrested by police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The Audi driver was taken to hospital following the crash and was treated for minor injuries, before subsequently being arrested.

All three men are currently on bail as inquiries continue.

West Yorkshire Police is urging any people with information relating to the crash or the circumstances leading up to it to contact the Major Collision Inquiry Team on 101, quoting log number 317 of February 26.
