A DERELICT Bradford pub remains on the market after it failed to sell at auction.

The Gardeners' Arms on Holme Top Lane, opposite St Luke’s Hospital, recently went under the hammer at the latest property auction by Pugh.

The Grade II listed Victorian pub has been shut for several years, has suffered extensive vandalism and was badly damaged by a fire in 2014.

The auction catalogue told potential buyers that the pub was “in need of total refurbishment.” It was in such a poor condition, that the auction house said it could not offer internal viewings before the auction.

No bidders met the asking price for the pub at the auction, held at Leeds City Football Club on Thursday, and it remains available for £45,000.

It also failed to sell at a similar auction last year.

In 2011 plans were approved for the building to be converted into a place of worship, but the conversion never went ahead and this planning permission has since lapsed.
