A BRADFORD League cricketer said he has been “overwhelmed” at the support he has received since a horrific injury left him with 15 broken bones in his head and face.
Alex Tait (pictured), who plays for Lightcliffe Cricket Club, was hit by a ball while bowling in the nets earlier this month.
He has now been released from Bradford Royal Infirmary following a number of operations, but will not be able to return to work for several months.
Club colleagues set up a Crowdfunding appeal to help with his family and living costs, and more than 600 people have already smashed the £10,000 target, raising £15,500 so far.
Speaking yesterday, Mr Tait, of Brighouse, said: “The response has been remarkable, I’ve been overwhelmed at the support from the cricket community.”
